State Senator from Dixon, Li Arellano Jr, is hoping to hear of thoughts and concerns from the voters in his district.
Thursday evening, he held a legislative recap event at the Dixon Historic Theatre Tuesday evening. Arellano said before the event that when you open it up for questions, you never know what you might get. However, he expected to get mostly questions concerning local matters.
He said other hot topics are property taxes and rural healthcare. In some parts of his district, there are more of a concern of crime.
Arellano is also part of a lawsuit to enforce the Illinois Constitution concerning legislation passage in Springfield. He said what he saw in Springfield during the recent spring session was unethical.
Arellano said he is not sure if he will have another such event in the Sauk Valley. He said if he does, it would probably be held in Sterling or Rock Falls.
